9月9日，中纪委书记王岐山表示，中共党员应坚持核心价值观这条高线，绝不突破党的纪律这条底线。
王岐山指出，高线（superior line）就是核心价值观（core values of ideals）、为人民服务的信念和宗旨（faith and tenets to serve the people）。党的纪律和规矩（Party discipline and regulations）就是要时刻挺在前沿、记在心里的底线（bottom line）。
