1、四级英语试题构成
同时，四级考试成绩使用满分为710分的计分体制，不设及格线；成绩报道方法为成绩报告单。成绩报道分为总分和单项分。单项分包含：1）听力，2）阅读，3）翻译和写作。
2、四级考试时间分配（共125分钟）：
08:45 验证入场（身份证、准考证、学生证缺一不可）
9:00-9:10 发放作文考卷，9:00之后没办法入场。
9:10 开始作文考试
9:35 提醒5分钟后将开始听力考试
9:40-10:05 听力考试开始
10:05 听力考试结束，录音结束后立即收答卷卡一
10:10-11:20 作答阅读理解和翻译
11:10监考老师口头提醒,10分钟后考试结束
11:20 考试结束。
在答卷过程中，考生需要在答卷卡上作答，在考试试题册上作答无效。所有选择性考试试题务必用2B铅笔划线作答；所有非选择性考试试题（即写作、翻译等）务必用黑色签字笔作答。
3、写作翻译攻略
考生可以参考我们的实质状况，合理调整答卷顺序和时间。写作与翻译各30分钟，再分别分为三个阶段：
1.审题：3分钟
必须要审题。不少英语基础较好的同学未能获得高分，就是由于没仔细审题。有的同学担忧时间不够，草草浏览题目，动笔就写，而写完发现跑题了，写得再好也是低分。审题时确定文章的中心思想和每段的主题句，可以列出简短的中英文提纲。
2.写作：25分钟
应该把大多数时间用于写作。不少同学没时间打草稿，因此，动笔之前把句子考虑成熟，尽可能少作改动。建议考生考试前根据时间需要写几篇文章，以便知道时间分配。考试时，最好用黑色的钢笔或签字笔，不要用蓝色、红色笔，更不要用铅笔，最好也不要用涂改液。另外，必须要把作文写在答卷纸的指定地区内，千万不要写在试题或草稿纸上。
3.检查：2分钟
如想在写作与翻译中获得理想分数，必须要花一两分钟时间检查文章，看文中是不是有容易见到的语法、拼写、标点等错误。修改时最好不要划掉一句或一段重新写。考生平常写完作文后也应培养检查的好习惯。可以用电脑中word文档写作，拼写错误会有红色下划线，语法错误会有绿色下划线。
1） 语法：
虽然语法在四级中不再作为单独的考试知识点考查，但假如语法太弱，非常难在写作部分获得理想分数。要获得及格分数，文中不应有太多紧急语法、拼写和标点错误。
2） 拼写：
四级词语量为4500，但容易见到的写作与翻译词语只有2000左右。只须拼写正确、运用得当，完全可以得到高分。本书中已涵盖大部分容易见到写作与翻译词语。
3） 标点：
建议基础普通的同学只用两种标点——逗号和句号，以免犯标点错误。但不要一逗到底，独立的句子应该用句号断开。基础较好的同学可以用较复杂的标点，如：
（1）分号表示并列，可以连接两个同义或反义的句子；
（2）冒号表示讲解，冒号后面对前面进行讲解；
（3）破折号表示讲解或转折；
（4）英文直接引语用逗号引出，而非冒号；
（5）英文书名用下划线，而非书名号。
