R: Beijing was voted as the host city of the Olympics in 2008. What do you think of it as a senior official.
R: 北京已被选定为2008年奥运会的举办城市。你作为一位政府的高级官员，请问你有什么怎么看？
O: Firstly, I'm so excited and proud at hearing the good news. On the other hand, I think it's an expected thing.
O: 第一，当我听到这一好消息，我很地激动和自豪！从另一个角度来讲，我觉得这是意料之中的事。
R: Why do you think so?
R: 为何是意料之中的事呢？
O: Well, it's the result of the reform and opening up for 20 years and economic development of China.
O: 这是中国二十年改革开放和经济进步的结果。
R: I feel the same way. In your opinion, the reason of Beijing winning 2008 Summer Olympics is that the power of the country is becoming stronger.
R: 也有同感。你觉得北京取得2008年夏天奥运会是由于中国变得愈加强大。
O: Of course. Without the great development of China, it is impossible for Beijing to win 2008 Summer Olympics.
O: 当然了。没中国经济的巨大进步，对北京来讲，取得2008年夏天奥运会的主办权也是不可能的。
R: Great! could you talk about the general impact1 on the economic development of China from the success?
R: 很好！你能否谈一下申奥的成功会给中国经济进步大体上带来的影响吗？
O: Ok, It will advance the development of infrastructure2, transportation, tourist industry, telecom and information technology, especially environment.
O: 可以，它将推进基础设施、交通、旅游业和信息服务业、尤其是环境建设的新进步。
